About Us

Before I created Bent & Twisted, I was enlisted in the US Air Force until I became a mother and decided to give that life up to be the best mother I could be.

Then one day I decided I missed the mental stimulation of working and the creative environment I had grown to love.

I was concerned my sons’ lives would be disrupted if I went back to work for someone else. They had never experienced day care or even babysitters on a regular basis. Truth be told, I liked it that way.

But then I learned how to make a simple wire ring and bracelet and my brain went into overdrive! I was like Johnny 5 in that 1980s movie, Short Circuit! INPUT!!!! As my skills grew, I recognized how important the best raw materials and mastering the basics are to making quality products.

That’s when I set out to create the most elegantly handcrafted jewelry for the most quality-conscious trendsetter in town.

It turns out, the road was more difficult than I imagined.

Beginning a journey of homeschooling my children, acquiring custody of another family member’s child, as well as becoming the primary caregiver to my father who suddenly fell blind, left precious little time for me to hone my newly acquired and budding skills.

My passion had been awakened and I had to figure out how to fulfill my own desires without dropping the many other balls I was juggling.  I decided to create something every day, even if I didn’t like how it turned out.

We knew the jewelry market was a tough nut to crack. How do you stand out in a saturated market?  Will people see the value in what we are doing?

Through it all, we released our first products and the response has been pure love! We are so thankful to our loyal followers that have become our biggest cheerleaders rooting for our success! It’s been an amazing journey and we are so very grateful.
